What to expect from a Tales & Trails
Library program

Great stories!

Animated and heartful performers

Lots of audience participation

Flexibility on site

Kids headed to the stacks for more books and stories

Even some fresh squeezed accordion music

We take pride in our ability to engage people of all ages. That's why we say that our programs are for anybody "older than yesterday and younger than tomorrow."

Since audience makeup is unpredictable we arrive prepared to adapt our programs so that we can "Tell to the Ones We're With."

At the end of a performance we'll guide children to story sources and related books. When a child leaves our program with books, eager to hear the next performer, we know that we've done our job well!

Stories Connect!

"I took my five boys, none of who were excited about leaving their summer activities for a 'boring' program.  They loved it so much we ended up seeing three shows.  Weeks later they're still retelling them.  We may have some future storytellers on our hands." (Salt Lake City patron)

We also offer bilingual performances

We love the opportunities we have to tell to audiences who come from all over the world.  To celebrate one second language is to celebrate them all. So whether it's a bilingual, multi-lingual or English speaking audience, un poquito Espanol becomes a reminder to "be related somewhow to everyone you meet."
